Position Nanny (Shared Care with Philipino Nanny)

Salary   £41,600 – £50,000 / year Tax free + Separate Accommodation

Contract 1 year renewable (Long Term commitment preferred)

A lovely Omani family, very highly recommended by current staff are looking for a looking for a kind, knowledgeable and engaging nanny to care for their intelligent and lively sons aged 2 and 5. 

The family require a Native English speaker, with a wealth of experience working with young children and an enthusiastic approach to their work. The household is fully staffed, therefore a team player is crucial. The Nanny will be supported by a Philipino nanny who has been with the family since their eldest was born.

The extended family live in a beautiful compound 20 minutes walk from the beach and international hotels such as the W and the Intercontinental. They would like to welcome a nanny into their family on a long-term basis. The family want the best for their children and will be happy to provide the nanny with any resources she requires for the children. The grandparents are very supportive of the children’s education and would like a nanny with a sound understanding of child development who can encourage learning within the home.

Working hours will be 6 days per week, 12 hours per day. 

This is a live-in position with separate accommodation on the compound, in a private villa shared with the Household Manager who is from the UK. The nanny will have her own floor.

There will be 4 weeks paid holiday per year, which should be taken at a time convenient to the family.

Previous experience of working in UAE a great advantage

An open attitude towards new cultures and different lifestyles

A willingness to learn some basic Arabic and engage with the extended family who live in the compound

Fit and active 

Able to swim (preferred but not essential)

Duties

Creating a safe and stimulating environment for the children 

Organising interesting activities related to the children’s personal interests 

Reading and playing games to stimulate learning, introducing some basic phonics

Supporting healthy routines, especially at bedtime

Bathing, dressing and supporting at mealtimes

Organising bedrooms/toys/clothing

Keeping the parents and household manager informed of all developments 

Professional Requirements

Native English Speaker

At least 3+ years Childcare Experience

Evidence of Teaching / Childcare qualifications

2 Recent references with contactable details

DBS certificate
