Position Governess
Start date June 2023
Location Milan
Salary 450 – £500 per week
A lovely Italian family known to our agency are looking for a looking for a knowledgeable and engaging nanny with an organised yet loving approach to childcare and child development.
There are 3 children B1, B6, G9 the eldest two currently attend a bi-lingual school and have a good grasp of the English language. Both parents are actively involved in the children’s lives and would like to welcome a British nanny into their family on a long-term basis. They are a relaxed and respectful family who require a personable nanny who can help to organise their busy and active household.
A native English speaker, with a strong grasp of the English language from an ESL perspective will be necessary to support the older children with their English homework and additional activities to improve their language skills. They will also take on a shared care role for the youngest child and Mum is open to the nanny attending playdates and group classes around Milan. Therefore, a driver would be helpful, but not an absolute necessity.
The family own a small farm outside of Milan, where they enjoy spending the holidays and weekends, so a nanny with a love of nature and animals would be ideal. They are a physically active family, who also enjoy skiing and have a property in St. Moritz where the children attend ski school and take part in other activities that the mountains have to offer. The family are very sociable and often spend time with other families who have children of similar ages during weekends and holidays
A live-out housekeeper is employed, so no cleaning would be required. Normal nanny duties such as laundry, tidying bedrooms, organisation of the children’s activities, timetables etc would be necessary. The preparation of healthy snacks and simple meals will also be required and Mum would like to work with someone who can encourage a love of food and cooking with the children. The family would like the nanny to have one on one time with each child individually, when possible, to encourage their personal interests through fun learning opportunities.
Working hours will be 5 days per week, 12 hours per day. The days are yet to be confirmed and will likely involve some weekend work, but always with 2 consecutive days off per week. The family are flexible and open in this regard, particularly for the right candidate.
This is a live out position with accommodation provided when travelling. The family are happy to host the nanny for a few weeks when she first arrives to help her settle in and find suitable accommodation near the family home.
